I am from Colombia where I was born 23 years ago.  My family  moved to Charlotte when I was a boy. I played under Coach Lee Horton at Charlotte Latin.  I continued my career at Liberty University. One collegiate summer I played for the Southern California Seahorses-a team like the Eagles that is under the umbrella of Missionary Athletes International.  I have learned during my time with these teams how soccer is amazing and that Jesus loves it.  My favorite Bible  passage is John 15:9 because it tells me how amazingly awesome God thinks I am!

In my second year with the Eagles some of my favorite moments include living, hanging out and practicing with the team.  I love working with the Urban Eagles.

I have many things that I like:  Reading, Photography, Mountain Biking, Chocolate Milk, the movie Gladiator, speaking Spanish, Chick-Fil-A, cave jumping and preaching in the Mediterranean.

My heroes are Emerit Lagasse–a world class chef and Bart Simpson–a world class skateboarder. A very embarrassing moment for me was when I walked onto the field with only my sliders on; I had forgotten my shorts.  Thus some tips for aspiring soccer players: don’t forget your shorts, have fun, laugh a lot and use both feet!

I am from High Point, North Carolina where I was born 27 years ago. This
past fall I hit a deer with my truck causing substantial damage. After
attending the University of Charleston, I was with the Houston Dynamo
for a season. I had offers to play elsewhere, but knew that God had
awesome things for me with the Eagles.

One of these is that I work with the Urban Eagles and I really enjoy hanging out with these friends with whom I live in the Birchcroft Community. I also met teammate, Juan Guzman, who I admire because he grows a great beard; seriously, he is a great encourager and loves me like a brother. One very practical thing that I have learned with the Eagles over the past three years is that I can be a good goalie and not have to foul or cheat in practices or games.

My favorite verse is Galatians 4:7:

“So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and since you are a son, GOD has also made you an heir.”

Understanding that I am no longer a slave but a son is the best thing ever!!!

If I weren’t playing professional soccer I’d like to play pro basketball or travel the world doing photography. A very embarrassing moment for me was when I let our some gas on my first date with Sarah who is now my fiancee. Not a good way to start a relationship, but it worked out okay for me we are getting married September 8th! Some tips for all aspiring soccer players out there are: work hard, have fun and always stay focused!!
